3D Crosswalks to be installed.
For the past few years we have been following the information and news about 3D crosswalks. The idea is very intriguing. Place a two dimensional marking on the roadway so it looks three dimensional …cool.
We are aware that the Transportation of Canada is studying 3D crosswalks to understand the implications for driver recognition of the crosswalk, safety considerations and the future impact on automated vehicles. But the idea is so intriguing that some jurisdictions are testing it out. Montreal had one crosswalk installed in 2018. Seems that Beaumont Alberta will be the first in Western Canada. You can access Beaumont’s web page here.
